What is really the difference between you and your competition? Of course there are factors you can't control (format, marketing, number of people on the show), but what about the things you can control?
The differences are subtle. Very subtle.
Check out this snippet from an article in Psychology Today about how small details influence our decisions...
"In another study, subjects were given three different boxes of detergent and asked to try them all out for a few weeks, then report on which they liked best and why. One box was predominantly yellow, another blue, and the third was blue with splashes of yellow. In their reports the subjects overwhelmingly favored the detergent in the box with mixed colors. Their reports included much about the relative merits of the detergents, but none mentioned the box. Why should they? A pretty box doesn’t make the detergent work better. But in reality it was just the box that differed – the detergents inside were all identical."
Wild, huh? The exact same product, separated by packaging. Think about this: How many times have we all covered the same celebrity death, local sports event, or "wacky story of the day?" More than you realize, I bet.
So with that in mind, how can you talk about that exact same story, but wrapped up in a blue and yellow box?
I just blew your mind, didn't I? You're welcome.

Hey there, I welcome your feedback and comments, but will not tolerate jackass behavior. If that's what you're into, head over to YouTube. Thanks again for leaving a thought....
