Hey there, guys, and happy Friday! Well, yesterday was a big day in the world of music. We lost a disco icon -- Donna Summer to cancer. Donna Summer has a special place in my heart because it was her song, "This Time I Know It's For Real," that was fading out the very first time I went on the radio. It was the summer of 1989 on a Saturday night. I played the hits on a top-40 station in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, called "All Hits 95 CFX." At 7:10pm, I put on my head phones and listened to the last minute of Donna Summer's hit with my heart pounding. I turned the mic up a full 30 seconds before I needed to... and I really can't remember what happened next. I know I spoke -- but I don't know what I said. It was an out of body experience.
I do know this, though, that every time I hear that great song, my heart starts racing during the last minute. I'm not kidding. I love it. We will miss Donna Summer.
The other piece of big music news is for anyone that has raised a child over the last 21 years. The Wiggles are retiring! The super-group out of Australia that came up with all of those kid's songs that stick in your head is making some big changes. If you're not familiar with The Wiggles, this will mean nothing to you... if you are, watch the vid:
If you're wondering how old these guys are, I know the one in the middle, Jeff, is 58! Anthony, the "blue Wiggle," is 49, and has dealt with some serious depression issues over the years. The Wiggles empire makes $45 million a year making them the biggest entertainment act in Australia.
And if you're wondering why I care -- well, my son Charlie, loved them -- even went to their concert. He's now 5 and past that stage, but my youngest, Kellen, at 14 months is picking up where Charlie left off. It's like The Beatles breaking up to these kids.

Friday Mash-Up
We will miss you, Donna Summer. Summer died yesterday in Key West, Florida at the age of 63. She had a string of smash hits from the mid-70's into the late 80's. In fact, Summer claimed a top 40 hit every year from 1976 to 1984, and from 1976 to 1982, she had 12 top 10 hits, more than any other act. These three hits were her biggest, though...
They happened during one magical year... was it 1977, 1979, or 1981?
Answer: 1979! Hot Stuff hit #1 for three weeks. Bad Girls hit #1 for five weeks, and MacArthur Park stayed at #1 for three weeks. All in 1979!
Joke of the Day
The manager of a large office noticed a new man one day and told him to come into his office. "What is your name?" was the first thing the manager asked the new guy."John," the new guy replied.
The manager scowled, "Look, I don't know what kind of a namby-pamby place you worked at before, but I don't call anyone by his first name. It breeds familiarity and that leads to a breakdown in authority. I refer to my employees by their last name only - Smith, Jones, Baker - that's all. I am to be referred to only as Mr. Robertson. Now that we got that straight, what is your last name?" The new guy sighed and said, "Darling. My name is John Darling."
"Okay, John, the next thing I want to tell you is..."

Do you feel your face is becoming a jowly, saggy mess? Blame your smartphone! Cosmetic surgeons are seeing more patients with sagging jowls, double chins, and lines that run from the corners of the mouth to the chin, and they're blaming modern technology -- specifically your smartphone and laptop. One surgeon told the London Evening Standard:"If you sit for hours with your head bent slightly forward, staring at your iPhone or laptop screen, you may shorten the neck muscles and increase the gravitational pull on the jowl area, leading to a drooping jawline."
It's easy to fix. A number of cosmetic surgery options are available from a chinplant ($7-grand), to chin-sculpting filler ($950). Or you can just keep your chin up when you're on your computer or smartphone. That's free.

Too Old?
Kelly Preston is telling Us Weekly that she loves being a new mom so much, that she'd like to have another. Kelly, who will be 50 in five months, also adds that "it might be pushing it." Is she right, or is age a state of mind? How old is too old to have a new baby?Source
Why Do Women Date Jerks?
There are a lot of nice guys out in this big, big world, and there are a lot of jerks...why do otherwise smart women always pick the jerks? We finally have an answer! It's ovulation's fault! Women think with their cycles and sometimes make really bad decisions, according to a new report. The hormonal influence of ovulation clouds women into thinking that the sexy bad boy will become a devoted partner and great dad. The study found that women at peak fertility in their cycle opted for the sexier, less dependable guy.
"When looking at the sexy cad through ovulation goggles...Mr. Wrong looked exactly like Mr. Right."
