12.2.10 Thursday!
Today is Hanukkah (which actually started last night at sunset), an 8 day Jewish Festival of Lights. In addition to the lighting of the candles, Hanukkah is celebrated with traditional prayers and hymns. Other Hanukkah traditions include the game of Dreidel, a gambling game using a spinning top; eating potato pancakes or doughnuts fried in oil as a reminder of the miraculous oil in the Temple; and giving gelt, real or chocolate money, as a gift. source
Since it's Hanukkah, of course we have to play the song... ya know, THE Hanukkah song

Everyone tells innocent lies about themselves, right? What lie bugs you most... innocent or not?
Where does someone cross the line when it comes to casual lying? Lying about age? Weight? Is that ok? Would it bug you if they lied about being a star athlete in high school when it turns out they were just the president of the audio/visual club? What about that short time they spent in jail? Take away applying for a job, what about ourselves is it okay to keep a secret?
You're in a public bathroom and your phone rings. Do you answer it?
This is something that I witnessed yesterday. A guy walks into the bathroom and starts doing his business. His phone rings. I'm at the sink wondering if he'll answer. In fact, I made an internal bet thinking that, yes, he will.
I was right.
To be polite to the caller, he walked away without flushing the toilet. Of course, how polite is it for the rest of us using the restroom behind him?

According to a recent survey, 40% admit to chatting on the phone in a public restroom, while 48% think it's inappropriate.
Where do you stand? Do you answer?

A first for "Survivor" last night -- two contestants quit the show. That's pretty significant considering only 4 others have left on their own in the history of the series that goes back a decade. NaOnka Mixon quit, saying Nicaragua made her joints ache, and Kelly Shinn left because she felt like she was "breaking down." Seven are left to fight for the $1-million.

Joke of the Day
When the rod in her closet fell from the weight of her clothes Sally decided to donate some. While gathering the garments she no longer wore, she checked the pockets in one coat and found a ticket for shoes she’d brought in for repairs nearly four years before. “So that’s what happened to those,” she muttered. Later that day after dropping off the clothes, she decided to see if the repairman still had the shoes.
After studying the ticket, the man said. “I’m sorry, but those won’t be ready until Friday.”

If you're a man with a long index finger, there's good news -- you have a lower risk of prostate cancer, according to British scientists. Men whose index finger is longer than their ring finger were one-third less likely to develop the disease. (The best way to check is to hold you hand out your car window, and with the wind blowing against your hand, fold back your index, ring and pinkie fingers for one minute. Let me know how that works out for ya)
