joke of the day

A college graduate applies for a job as an industrial spy. Together with several other applicants, he is given a sealed envelope and told to take it to the fourth floor. As soon as the young man is alone, he steps into an empty hallway and opens the packet. Inside, a message reads: "You're our kind of person. Report to the fifth floor."

You Love Obama, He Loves Romney.  Now What?

It's terrific to have fireworks in a relationship, unless, of course,  the fire comes from an argument over politics.  And unfortunately, this is a tough time of year for couples that don't see eye-to-eye on the presidential race, or any race for that matter.

So what do you do as a couple if she has an Obama sticker on the back of her Prius and he has a Romney sign in the front yard?  Here are four tips that may get you through November from YourTango.com:

  1. Don't take it personally!  Realize you won't agree on everything, and just agree to disagree.  Politics shouldn't be any more than a discussion.
  2. Focus on what you have in common.  When things get heated, try focusing on the issues where you both agree.  Focus on common ground
  3. Don't talk about it.  Stop talking about politics if you know they'll lead to personal attacks and nasty arguments.  This is probably the best tip of all.
  4. Remember why you fell in love in the first place.  You are never going to love EVERYTHING about your partner, so when things get difficult, remember all the things you love about them -- the reasons you fell in love with them in the first place.

Top Toy of the Century!

Think about all the cool toys you had as a kid -- what was your favorite? This is what the Children's Museum of Indianapolis wanted to find out, so they asked visitors to their website, and can you guess what topped the list?

G.I. Joe!

Yes, the toughest Hasbro character of all beat 99 other toys, including Transformers, Barbie, and the View Master for the title of the top toy of the 20th Century.

Joe has been around since the mid-60's, and has always been controversial with his "might makes right" message.  Other adults claim Joe allows kids to recreate stories of good triumphing over evil.

Here’s the rest of the top 10 list:

2. Transformers

3. Lego

4. Barbie

5. View-Master

6. Bicycle

7. Cabbage Patch Kids

8. Crayons

9. Play-Doh

10. Monopoly

Facebook/Phones:  Looking back, what toy did you wear down?  What was your absolute favorite?
