joke of the day
A sales rep, an administration clerk, and a manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. One of them rubs it and a Genie appears from inside it. The Genie says, 'I'll give each of you just one wish.'
'Me first! Me first!' says the admin clerk. 'I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.'
Poof! He's gone.
'Me next! Me next!' says the sales rep. 'I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my own personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and three Playboy Playmates!' Poof! He's gone.
'OK, you're next,' the Genie says to the manager.
The manager says, 'I want those two slackers back in the office after lunch.'
The Power of the Little Red Beast
200 kids between 8 and 11 years old were offered a choice between a cookie and an apple.
9 out of 10 kids picked...yes, the cookie. Then, researchers offered the kids the same choice, but this time put a sticker on the apple featuring the face of Elmo.
For 40% of the kids, that's all it took -- they snatched the apple.
Conclusion: Elmo control's your child's brain. Let's hope he continues to use that power for good.
Party On, Harry!
What Elmo is for children, Prince Harry is for the rest of us. Children will do anything Elmo say, and we want to do everything Harry did! After Prince Harry's pantless party in Vegas over the weekend, inquiries into Vegas vacations jumped 123%! Hotels.com watched their searches for Las Vegas hotels skyrocket after photos of Harry's wild weekend were released. They're calling it the "Prince Harry Effect," which gave the Las Vegas page on Hotels.com the most visited on its website.

Tips to Boost Your Kids' Confidence Before School Starts
While you're packing their lunch and backpacks, you can also say a few things that will boost their self-esteem as they head off to school... Here are 3 from psychologist Dr. Sue Cornbluth...
#1 Be careful what you say -- Praise your kid for a job well done, but also for effort. Reward for effort and completion, instead of outcome.
#2 Be a positive role model -- If you're harsh on yourself, pessimistic or unrealistic about your abilities, your kids will mirror you.
#3 Identify and redirect inaccurate beliefs -- If your kid has irrational beliefs about perfection, attractiveness, ability, or anything else, help them through it. A child that says "I can't do math" at a young age will feel like that the rest of his life.

Rejection Meter
Rejection is hard enough on the telephone or even face-to-face, so why would we want to know who rejected us on Facebook? Well if you're the kind of person that likes to keep score, there are a few apps that will tell you when and who unfriended you on Facebook, or unfollowed you on Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+.
For Facebook: Unfriend Finder and Social Fixer will tell you who gave you the axe.
Twitter: Unfollowr (just follow @unfollowr on Twitter, and they'll let you know via DM who quit your 140 words of brilliance), and Quitter
Friend or Follow is interesting. Put in your Twitter name and it will tell you who you're following that isn't following you back, who's following you that you're not following, and who you're following that follows you back.
Instagram: Statigram tells you who stopped looking at your old-timey filter photos.
Pinterest: Followers on Pinterest works on iPhone and iPad only
Google+: G-Minus tells you who kicked you out of their circle.
