Ever been busted after calling in sick?

An Allentown, PA firefighter was fired last month after playing golf for three days.  Problem - those were the same three days he called in sick.  Busted.

Of course, nobody would've known if hadn't posted his scores on Golf.com.

His union is protesting the firing saying "playing golf was well within the guidelines of his diagnosis."  No other details were provided.

Is this mom too uptight, or would you have done the same thing?

Jennifer Tesch of Madison Heights, Michigan got her daughter booted from the cheer team by contacting a TV news station about the content of one of their cheers.  The cheer goes like this-- READY!

"Our backs ache, our skirts are too tight, we shake our booties from left to right."

Oh, you should also know this -- her daughter is 6 years old.

After the story aired, the team had a meeting to discuss the situation.  They decided to keep the cheer and boot the little girl.  Jennifer was in tears because her daughter loves the cheer team, but feels she was standing up for what was right.

Was she?  Even if you didn't contact a TV station, would you have pulled your kid for the words to that cheer, or is it no big deal?

A couple, desperate to conceive a child, went to their priest and asked him to pray for them.
"I'm going on a sabbatical to Rome," he replied, "and while I'm there, I'll light a candle for you."
