"dancing with the stars results" - No surprise last night that Niecy Nash and Louis Van Amstel were sent packing.  They received the lowest score by the judge's the other night.  Chad Ochocinco joined Niecy in the bottom two, which means he needs a heck of a performance next week.  Although at this point it's hard to think anyone can beat Pussycat Doll leader Nicole Scherzinger.  Here are the remaining four and their scores from Monday:

What's it going to take to get our kids thin again?  
The administration released a 124-page report full of recommendations to bring down the child obesity rate.  The goal is 5%; right now we stand at 22%.  Here are few suggestions:
  • Encourage women to breast feed
  • reauthorize and expand the Child Nutrition Act
  • Rethink public housing construction to include more sidewalks and bike paths
  • Get more healthful foods into schools
  • Empower parents with nutritional information
  • Make sure all kids are physically active

What do you think should be added to the list?  Do you think we can really change kids if we don't change parents first?



Do you think 3-D is really the wave of the future?  Can you see yourself watching 3-D TV and thumbing through 3-D magazines?
What?  Magazines?  Yep.  Playboy is going 3D starting this Friday.  All of their articles will add a third dimension.  Just kiddin'!  Of course it's the centerfold!  Hugh Hefner isn't buying into the fad, though.  "I'm not a huge enthusiast of 3-D...I leave real life to go to the movies and 2-D is fine with me."   Interesting trivia:  Hefner thought of the 3-D idea in the 50's when he launched his magazine, but scrapped the idea when he discovered how expensive it would be to include the glasses.

Should we arrest parents for this?
A mother in East Tennessee was thrown in jail after she made her 5-year old boy smoke a cigarette hoping he would hate it and NOT smoke.  The 24-year old woman has been charged with child abuse and neglect, disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana.  Seriously, if you take away the marijuana part, is she really doing something that hasn't been tried before?  Didn't your parents let you try a beer, coffee or wine, knowing you would hate it?
