What folks are Googlin' this morning

"eric trump"- Donald Trump's second son with Ivana, Eric Trump, sat along side his papa last night on The Celebrity Apprentice.  Eric, a hot search this morning, currently holds the position of Executive VP at the Trump organization as well as Chairman of the Board of the Eric Trump Foundation.

BTW:  Summer Sanders got the boot last night after coming up with three weak radio ads, and the lack of killer instinct in the boardroom.  Good news for Bret Michaels - see Celebrity Tweets below

"john basilone" - Sunday's episode of "The Pacific" — the eighth of the 10-part HBO miniseries — depicted the death of Congressional Medal of Honor recipient John Basilone during the first day of fighting on Iwo Jima.  Basilone was played by Jon Seda.

"helen wagner" - Helen wagner, who is best known for playing Nancy Hughes on "As the World Turns", died over the weekend.  She was 91.  She held the Guinness World Record for playing the same role on television for the longest time - 54 years.

"family guy 150th episode" - The Family Guy celebrated show 150 last night with plenty of poop jokes along with a dog and baby getting drunk.  We also discovered that Brian (the dog) owned a gun he kept in a bank safe-deposit box which led to a discussion of suicide and Stewie admitting he'd miss Brian if he were gone.  Teary yet?

Who in your life do you suspect may be a zombie?
In case you didn't know, May is Zombie Awareness Month.  According to the Zombie Research Society's website, "many films important to the evolution of the modern Zombie are set in the month of May, from the original Night of the Living Dead, 1968, to the well received Dawn of The Dead remake of 2004.

Also, because Spring naturally brings with it a sense of renewal and hopefulness, May is the perfect month to emphasize continued vigilance in the face of the coming Zombie Pandemic."

Who was the greatest teacher you ever had, and why?  What makes a great teacher?  On the flip side, give me the first indication that a teacher is going to be trouble.
This week kicks off Teacher Appreciation Week where we express our gratitude to those that shape the minds of the future.  This website suggests a few ideas for "thank you" gifts for your child's teacher:

  • Early grade students:  A nice drawing of something like the teacher standing next to a blackboard.
  • Middle school students:  Make a bookmark, soap sculpture, notepad or book of thanks.
  • Older students:  A surprise party, a t-shirt with the teacher's photo and funny caption. Make their favorite dish.  Make a poster the teacher's picture and notes of appreciation.
  • Or do what I did to honor my teacher and give her a break - skip school.

Ever set up your own sting operation to catch a thief?
Students at North Marion High School in Citra, Florida had enough.  Money kept disappearing from their lockers.  So to try and catch the thief, they set up hidden video camera.  Got him!   The thief turned out to be 49 year old Steven Simmons, their PE teacher.  Oops.  He ripped off a total of $400.

CELEBRITY TWEETS

Tyra Banks played a practical joke way past April 1st.  On Friday, she told her audience that she had been bitten by a rabid dog, but received treatment.  She then sipped an Alka-Seltzer concoction, dropped to the floor, and pretended to foam at the mouth.   ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.  Not really.  She was ticked that nobody came to her rescue.

Bret Michaels is recovering at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Phoenix, and doctors there will hold a press conference tomorrow to update fans on his condition.   Michaels' doctor did release this statement:  "There is no doubt that Mr. Michaels' condition is serious...Bret's sheer will to live and fully recover is undeniable...He has an unbelievable fight in him and told me what kept him alive at the moment of the hemorrhage was that he 'did not want his family to wake up and see him lying unconscious in the middle of the floor.' It was a combination of Bret's fight to stay conscious during the hemorrhage and get to the emergency room, and the immediate medical attention provided by our staff at Barrow, that enabled us to stabilize his condition."

Sad news to report today - There will be not be a sequel to Anchorman.  The movie studio that owns the rights to the Will Farrell movie passed on making another one, even though the major players, including Farrell, Steve Carell, Christina Applegate and Paul Rudd, agreed to take pay cuts.

Expecting - Lance Armstrong and girlfriend Anna Hansen.  Their second baby is due in October.

Did she or didn't she?  The buzz in Hollywood is all about Kate Hudson and whether or not she was recently "enhanced," shall we say.  Eyebrows were raised when she arrived at a music festival four weeks ago, and again over the weekend at a party.  Check out the photo here and decide for yourself

If you don't pull your weight, Halle Berry won't think twice about kicking you to the curb.  According to People.com, Berry dumped Gabriel Aubry several months ago.  A source says it was very "amicable in healthy ways because of their child."  The two have a 2-year old daughter.

Jodie Sweetin is pregnant again.  She has a 2-year old with her ex-husband, Cody Herpin, and is now expecting with her boyfriend of one-year, Morty Coyle.  A source tells People.com that Sweeting is happy and "in a good place."  Her ex-husband tells the National Enquirer that he's "disgusted" with her.  He feels she hasn't been able to control her sobriety.  Her rep says she's "clean, clean, clean."

BOX OFFICE:  The "Nightmare On Elm Street" remake was king of the box office this weekend.  Freddie Krueger, who has a bad habit of slashing people up in their dreams, brought in $32.2 million.  The new flick from Brendon Fraser, "Furry Vengeance", bombed with just $6.5 million.  So does this mean, like the original "Elm Street" series, that we have 7 sequels to look forward to?

1. "A Nightmare on Elm Street," $32.2 million.
2. "How to Train Your Dragon," $10.8 million.
3. "Date Night," $7.6 million.
4. "The Back-up Plan," $7.2 million.
5. "Furry Vengeance," $6.5 million.
