Interesting find from eOnline.com about another child star that went missing...and is still missing. Joe Pichler (pic), who appeared as Brennan Newton in two of the Beethoven dog movies, disappeared in 2006 at age 18 and still hasn't been found. All authorities found was an abandoned car and notes that appeared suicidal.

Teen actress Scout Taylor-Compton (pic) disappeared for two weeks five years ago. When her parents went public, she was found the next day. She had been staying with a family that found her sleeping in a playground following a family fight.

Have you been digitally dumped?
Digital dumping, or breaking up with someone without actually SPEAKING to them, is becoming more of a cop out acceptable. A new survey found 34% have ended a relationship by email. 13% ended their relationship by changing their status on Facebook without telling their partners. 6% broke it to to the public via Twitter. Just 38% did it the old fashion way -- TALKING TO THE PERSON. "Digital Dumping will soon take over when it comes to ending a relationship...It's often easier, quicker and avoids any misunderstandings." Weak?

When a school fails, who should get most of the blame?
Check out these statistics from Central Falls High School in Rhode Island:
  • only 7% of 11th graders tested were proficient in math
  • 33% were proficient in writing
  • Just a little of half were proficient in reading
  • Two years ago, only 52% graduated
So what do you do with a school like that? Fire all the teachers? Yep, and that's what's going to happen. The Central Falls board of trustees approved plans to axe every teacher in the school, with plans to hire only half, if that, back.

This falls under a school restructuring plan supported by the federal government to save failing schools. Either teachers get more training and do more to help kids, or they're out. The teachers union wanted more pay for the extra work, but that wasn't in the plans. So is this a good idea? Should all the blame be put on teachers?
