4 quick phoners to get you started

joke of the day

Over a remote Scottish island a helicopter lost power and was forced to make an emergency landing. Luckily there was a small cottage nearby. The pilot walked over to it and knocked on the door. “Is there a mechanic in the area?” he asked the woman who answered the door. She scratched her head and thought for a few seconds. “No,” she finally said, pointing down the road, “but we do have a McArdle and a McKay.”

When you should break up

There are times when the friction between unmarried couples can be too much to handle, and a break is needed.  It's not so much a break-up, but an "intermission."  But an expert on YourTango points out that a true relationship "intermission" can only work on certain couples.  An intermission can work for couples where:

  • One partner has not sufficiently mourned the death of a loved one
  • One or both partners knows that his or her parents or children are not showing appropriate respect, but does not know how to set appropriate boundaries
  • One or both partners are overly critical or controlling and wishes to address these issues.

On the other hand, if you're a couple going through one of the following, you just need to break up and move along...

  • One partner is not ready for a commitment and longs for time to experience other relationships.
  • One partner is so tied to a parent(s) that a partner or potential partner's desires cannot be shown respect, and a mature discussion is unable to occur.
  • In second marriages, children from a first marraige or relationship are allowed to disrespect one's present partner.

If one of the three above sound familiar, hit the road.

There are actually  more signs, and you can get them here

How to Live 122 years

The oldest man in the world just died at 122 years old.  Magomed Labazanov was born in Russia in 1890.  1890!

His recipe for a long life is simple:

  • No alcohol
  • No tobacco
  • No women

The big three.  Yikes.  Despite his urge to abstain from women, Magomed was twice married, has outlived three of his four sons, boasts 18 grandchildren and more than 20 great great grandsons.  Worth

Modern Day Dating Dealbreakers

Is it important for a guy to be the bread winner in the relationship?  Should he make more money than her?  Well, according to a It's Just Lunch survey, maybe not.  But, he certainly can't be lazy.  Here are some modern day dealbreakers when it comes to finding a guy:

Work:  67% of women prefer dating a guy that shares her same career path

School:  Most women want a guy with a similar education history.

Money:  9% would never date a guy who makes far less than she does, and another 24% would be concerned, but might give him another chance if he has life goals.

Facebook/Phones:  Is there a dealbreaker you have that is not mentioned here?  What is it?
