Doing a little experimenting....

Hey there guys! Hope you have a great weekend. Please pardon me while I experiment a little with tools that will make playing audio from the ViralDj blog page much, much easier.

I hate having another window open up to play audio, so I found an MP3 player that will embed the audio directly to the blog. I'm going to try it for a couple days to see what happens.

EMAIL SUBSCRIBERS! If you're getting this prep via email, you may (or may not) see the audio sliders. If not, head to the main blog

Have a great show!
-Dave

P.S. You will see some major changes coming to ViralDj by early summer. Very exciting, but a lot of work. I'll keep you in the loop...

Saturday Night Live - Will Ferrell hosts / Usher Performs

Joke of the Day

In the middle of a forest, there was a hunter who was suddenly confronted by a huge, mean bear.

In his fear, all attempts to shoot the bear were unsuccessful. Finally, he turned and ran as fast as he could. The hunter ran and ran and ran, until he ended up at the edge of a very steep cliff. His hopes were dim.

Seeing no way out of his predicament, and with the bear closing in rather quickly, the hunter got down on his knees, opened his arms, and exclaimed, "Dear God! Please give this bear some religion!" The skies darkened and there was lightning in the air. Just a few feet short of the hunter, the bear came to abrupt stop, and glanced around, somewhat confused.

Suddenly, the bear looked up into the sky and said, "Thank you God, for the food I'm about to receive..."

Friday Mash-Up

What year? 2004,2006, or 2010???

HINT: It was the same year we saw this flick at the theater:

Answer: 2004!!!

Never Get Married

The Stir compiled a list of why it's better to stay perpetually single...

1) Despite what everyone else says, you LOVE the single life.
2) You know you'll have to share both the ice cream and the television remote.
3) You'll have to boot Pablo the Pool Boy.
4) You like to sleep across the whole bed.
5) You can't stand sharing your space, especially when you know that with marriage comes dude stuff - like that awful Bud Light sign.
6) You know that colonies of dirty socks will follow you everywhere you go the moment you let a guy move in.
7) You'd rather be able to break it off and move on without having to involve the courts.
8) Your toilet seat will NEVER be the same.
9) You don't want to have to answer to anyone - you can come and go as you please.
10) Marriage = one person for the rest of your life. One person for the rest of your life = BORING.
11) Marriage is expensive. So is divorce. You'd rather take the cash and travel around Europe for three years.
12) Your main priority is climbing that corporate ladder and making yourself a success in your career.
13) Getting a break on your taxes and car insurance, despite what they say, isn't a reason to settle down.
14) Marriage is an antiquated tradition, much like not allowing women to vote. Why bother with an institution that fails half the time?
15) You know that marriage = compromise. You don't feel that you need to compromise everything to be with someone else.

Random Ways to Get Ahead at Work

A few expert tips from Cosmo to help you move up the ladder...
  • Schedule a vacation - Why? Because studies have proven that people get a big boost of happiness just before they go on vacation, which translates into a better worker.
  • Wear Sunscreen - A body that's too tan (or even orange thanks to spray-tans) sends a signal to your boss that you're self-obsorbed and frivolous.
  • Suck Up! I know this is everything you've always hated about your co-workers, but studies prove that a little brown-nosing moves you up the ladder
  • Watch YouTube Vids - Because research proves that people in good moods perform better (see "schedule vacation"), so if you're about to unleash on a co-worker, bring up a funny video to take your mind off the situation
  • Get Off Your Butt! Exercise DURING work makes you more productive. Hit the gym during lunch hour, or go for a 15 minute walk outside.

'Social Jetlag' is Making Us Fat

If you wake up to an alarm, you have, what researchers are calling, 'social jetlag'. A new condition described as a mismatch between our body's internal clock and the realities of our day-to-day lives. Each one of us has a unique sleep cycle, but the busier we get, the more we ignore that cycle. And ignoring the cycle is leading us to smoke, drink and eat more. So what can you do to minimize the damage? A researcher suggested spending more time outdoors during daylight hours, or at least sitting by a window, may help the problem.
