Today is NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY! A holiday that goes back to 1938 to honor the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during World War 1. It's now a fundraiser for the Salvation Army, so you'll probably find volunteers passing out free doughnuts at Dunkin' Donuts or Krispy Kreme, or your favorite local doughnut hangout.
The Salvation Army shared their original doughnut recipe this year. Simple enough -- just grab some flour, sugar, salt, eggs, milk and lard -- and bake away! Grab the recipe here
Again, free doughnuts can be found today only at Krispy Kreme (details) and Dunkin Donuts (with beverage purchase -- details).

Birthday Quiz
Our birthday girl was a 70's rock star, but most of us know her from a recurring role as Pinky's sister on the show "Happy Days." Who is she?
Answer
Suzi Quatro! She played Leather Tuscadero and landed the part without auditioning after producer Gary Marshall noticed Quatro all over his daughter's wall. Here's a head scratcher --- Quatro was actually offered her own spin-off series by Marshall, but turned it down fearing she would be typecast. source

Joke of the Day
On his first day at a new job, a guy attempts to phone an intern.
"Bring me a cup of coffee, pronto," he bellows.
"Do you know who you're talking to?" the voice on the other end of the line shouts back. "This is the president of the company."
"Do you know who the YOU'RE talking to, buddy?" the guy yells.
"No, I don't," replies the president.
"Thank God for that!"

Wait, That's Not Gaga's Signature!
A New Jersey school employee is in hot water this morning after telling students they were going to chat online live with Lady Gaga! Yaaay! Too bad the person on the other end was an impersonator. The students were told her webcam was broken and she could only interact via text. What gave the ruse away were signed photographs that were passed out to students. One student actually noticed they were forged. You can't pull one over on true Gaga fans! "Appropriate action" was taken against the employee.
NBC Bringing Back the Fear!
The network is dusting off an oldie -- "Fear Factor," which aired from 2001 to 2006 with host Joe Rogan. No word on when the show will return or if Rogan will once again host.
