It drives you nuts when your man NEVER apologizes for (what)?

Is it a shock to find out women apologize more than men?  Well now science proves it!  New research discovered women do indeed apologize more than men, but it's not because men are mean, it's because men have a higher threshold for what they think deserves an apology.

"It seems to be that when they think they've done something wrong they do apologize just as frequently as when women think they've done something wrong. It's just that they think they've done fewer things wrong," said study researcher Karina Schumann.

So when is he the most stubborn?  When should men apologize... but won't?

Should the school year be longer, or would that put too much pressure on kids?

President Barack Obama issued a tough-love message to students and teachers yesterday:  Students need to stay in school longer and bad teachers need to take a hike.

American students go to school an average of 180 days per year compared to 197 days for countries like Japan, South Korea, Germany and New Zealand.

Agree?  Do you think your kids could handle a longer school year, or would junior crack under the pressure?  story

5 Tips to Survive a Plane Crash
Did you know that only 15% of airline crashes involve fatalities?  According to the FAA, even when crashes involve fatalities, the majority of passengers survive -- many times because these survivors did the right thing at the right time.  Here are a few tips to keep in mind the next time you fly:

  1. Don't carry items with sharp corners.  During turbulence or an accident, carry-on items could become flying objects.

  2. Dress Appropriately.  Women should wear low-heeled shoes or boots.  NO NYLONS - they can melt onto your skin when exposed to high heat.

  3. Count.  Once you sit down, count how many rows you are from the exits.  That way, if you lose visibility, you can place your hands on the seats and count your way to an exit.

  4. Pay Attention.  Although we all like to appear cool by ignoring the flight attendant's safety briefing at the beginning of the flight, pay attention and take mental notes.

  5. Oxygen mask.  Know how to use it.  At the altitude most airlines fly, a passenger would remain conscious for only 18 seconds, leaving time for only one purposeful act if the cabin lost pressure.  That's not a lot of time.

  • Southwest Airlines made a $1.42 billion for AirTran Monday giving them the opportunity to enter Atlanta and expand into the New York and Boston markets.  MMmmmmm....Boston Market....mashed potatoes...what were we talking about again? go!

  • Mugshot of the day  This is David Winkelman.

He was arrested Thursday night for failing to appear in court to answer a misdemeanor charge for operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.  What everyone's talking about is the tattoo on his forehead featuring a radio station called "93 Rock."  Winkelman thought he would get a six-figure payout for the tattoo as advertised by a DJ, until he found out it was a practical joke.  He sued, yes, but eventually dropped the complaint.  All that's left is this fine artwork advertising a radio format that doesn't even exist anymore - it switched from rock to AC.

  • Get this -- Generation Y would rather text than drive.  Drivers 21 to 30 now account for 14% of miles traveled, which is down from 21% in 1995.  Why?  They put less stock in physical visits.  There are other ways to communicate - most of them digital.  That is, until they need to borrow money from mom and dad, then all of a sudden it's not so digital... go!

  • Did you hear about the guy that owns the Segway company?  He died Sunday after driving one his famous scooters straight off a cliff.  As he was falling, somebody heard him scream, "Note to self - Segways need parachutes..." go!
