What folks are Googlin' this morning

"dennis blair" - President Obama will replace the Director of National Intelligence, Admiral Dennis Blair (ret).  The resignation should happen today.  Blair's job was to coordinate the 16 intelligence agencies and make sure they cooperate and share information.

"jim breuer"- Last night was the season finale of The Marriage Ref, and Demi Moore, Kelly Ripa and Saturday Night Live alum Jim Breuer were the celebrity panel. Full breakdown here

"bret michaels" - Bret Michaels is back in the hospital this morning after having what doctors call a "warning stroke."  Michaels had a patent foramen ovale (or hole in the heart).  The condition is treatable and most likely unrelated to the brain hemorrhage he suffered last month.  Doctors say he's walking, talking and happy to be alive.  He's still on for Sunday's finale of the "Celebrity Apprentice."

"google tv" - At the Google I/O conference yesterday in San Francisco, the Google TV platform was unveiled that will combine TV with the Internet.  The new technology will allow you to surf the web while watching television, or stream online shows to your television.  Look for it this fall.

Light 'em up!

Have you ever unintentionally watched an entire season of a TV show on DVD all in one sitting?
TV show seasons on DVD are dangerous.  The teases at the end of one episode are always too tempting, which forces you to watch the next episode right away.  Before you know it, the weekend has slipped by and you have nothing to show for it but 3 seasons of "The X-Files".

Kris is a good example.  She lost her job this week, and with nothing else to do, she plans on watching every episode from every season of Lost (6 seasons) before the season finale airs this Sunday.  Not only is she watching it, but she's blogging her thoughts here. Does the blogging part make her feel like she's doing it for a purpose?

Is the the whole concept of a "sports hero" long gone?
Over and over and over again, Floyd Landis told the world that he did not use performance enhancing drugs to help win the Tour de France.  He was stripped of his 2006 victory after failing a doping test and spent the next four years and a million bucks to clear his name.   Yesterday, he said he had been lying all along and yes, he did use performance enhancing drugs.

"I want to clear my conscience...I don't want to be part of the problem any more," he told ESPN.

But not only did he out himself, but he also ratted out Lance Armstrong.  He said his team mates, including Armstrong, used illegal drugs, including once on a bus during a race.  Armstrong, of course, denies the charge.

So between Mark McGuire's steroid use, Tiger Wood's womanizing, Floyd Landis' admission of drug use, and the list goes on and on and on... is there such a thing as a "sports hero" anymore, or are they now just officially "entertainers"?

CELEBRITY TWEETS

Controversy!  A picture of Modern Family's Julie Bowen, that was rejected by the ladies on The View, was proudly put on display during "Lopez Tonight."  The picture is an overhead shot of Bowens breastfeeding her twins.  She bragged about the "double football" breastfeeding style she uses, and then whipped out the photograph.  Warning:  Not Safe For Work!!!  Is this a big deal to you?  Are we a little too sensitive about breast feeding, or should some things remain private?

JOKE OF THE DAY

Three contractors were bidding to fix a broken fence at the White House. The first contractor said: “I figure the job will run about $900 - that's $400 for materials, $400 for my crew and $100 profit for me.”

The second contractor announced: “I can do this job for $700 – that's $300 for materials, $300 for my crew and $100 profit for me.”

The third contractor leaned over to the White House official and whispered: “$2,700.”

The incredulous White House official asked him: “How did you come up with such a high figure?”

The contractor smiled and said: “$1,000 for me, $1,000 for you, and we hire the second guy to fix the fence.”
