Today is National Goof-Off Day, or what we call in radio, Tuesday. It's also As Young As You Feel Day and Laser Day which celebrates the first laser patent on this day in 1960 (I may not FEEL young today, but thanks to the laser, I certainly LOOK young!)

Answer

RCA introduced us to Selectra Vision, a laser disc player, which we all use today! Oh, wait, no...it was a flop.

How To Survive Being A Mom!

Ahhh, mommyhood. The idea of being a mom is, and always has been, so much easier than actually BEING a mom. In fact, trying too hard can lead many moms to resent motherhood, according to the authors of "Mothers Need Time-Outs, Too."

They researched 500 women to find that "perfectionism is the number one issue keeping modern mothers from enjoying the moment."

The need to be everything to everyone is so consuming, that you forget about ... you! They have 10 tips to help moms give themselves permission to take care of themselves --

1 Give yourself a break—you don't need to be so hard on yourself.
2 Just say no! What are your real priorities?
3 Take time to write it down. Journaling will bring clarity to your life.
4 Slow down and savor living in the moment.
5 Plug into your kids so you can really connect with them.
6 Don't forget about your husband—intimacy is life-affirming!
7 Reach out beyond your family. It will enrich everyone.
8 Make your physical and mental health a priority.
9 Is more always better? Simplify everything.
10 Be a little selfish—you deserve it, and it will make you a better mother.

New Record For the Biggest Baby Girl

A British mom is recovering after giving birth to the world's biggest baby girl -- 12 pounds, 8 ounces! Baby Libby is twice the size of the average newborn and was born after just six hours of labor. Not only that, but mama Gemma had a natural birth opting for only gas and air pain relief.

The world's heaviest baby tipped the scales at 23 pounds, 12 onces, in 1979, but only lived 11-hours.

The heaviest surviving newborn was born in 1955 and weighed 22 pounds, 8 ounces.
