Today is Cyber Monday, marking the beginning of the online Christmas shopping season. How popular is shopping for gifts online? More and more every year -- get this -- in 2009, 96.5 million shopped online during Cyber Monday while 79 million shopped at traditional stores on Black Friday.
The Better Business Bureau has 10 tips if you're going to shop online today. Here are three:
1 - Protect your computer by having the most recent updates on your spam filters, anti-virus and anti-spyware software.
2 - Shop on trustworthy websites by looking for the BBB seal and other widely-recognized "trustmarks" on retailer websites.
3 - Protect your personal information by taking time to read the site's privacy policy. If there isn't one posted - run.

The hit, at least so far, are Squinkies! Squinkies are cute little characters that come in a tiny plastic bubble. There are hundreds of characters -- from a Lhasa apso dog to a tiny bride. What makes them so appealing? The price! $10 for a 16-pack.
Walmart.com has been sold out of them for weeks, and other stores are limiting how many you can buy at a time.
How did Squinkies become such a hit? You can thank mommy-bloggers for that! The creator of Squinkies sent sample packs to 300 bloggers for reviews and giveaways. Everyone from DealWiseMommy.net to FairyGoodMommy.com raved about 'em.
"Mommy bloggers are incredibly powerful," said a Wal-Mart executive.

- Make a mental list of the small things you do daily that count as exercise -- they found that people who viewed going up stairs, walking dogs, and cleaning rooms as exercise actually LOST WEIGHT!
- Jog or walk backwards. You exert more energy doing things in reverse.
- Down a couple servings of caffeine before working out.
- Make a donation, buy a coffee for a co-worker, or hold the door open for someone. Just doing something nice strengthens your willpower and increases your physical endurance.

RIP Leslie Nielsen. Nielson, who had us rolling in classics like "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun" died yesterday near his home in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was 84. The actor had been hospitalized for two weeks as a result from pneumonia, according to his agent. "Just in this last 48 hours, the infection has gotten too much... he fell asleep and passed away," his nephew said.
