"oil rig explosion"
Another oil rig explosion in the Gulf of Mexico. This one, thankfully, killed none of he workers, but they did have to dive into the ocean. The rig is owned by Mariner Energy and they report no oil leak, but the AP reports a 100 foot-wide oil sheen near the platform. http://bit.ly/9oKn3Z
"gumby suits"
Check out these suits http://bit.ly/clXrII
They say these are what saved all 13 lives on that oil rig in the Gulf yesterday. Gumby suits are floating survival suits that make you look like gumby when worn. “These guys had the presence of mind, used their training to get into those gumby suits before they entered the water. It speaks volumes to safety training and the importance of it because, beyond getting off the rig, there’s all the hazards of the water such as hypothermia,” Coast Guard spokesman Chief Petty Officer John Edwards said.
"t.i. and tiny"
Rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka "Tiny" Cottle, were arrested Wednesday night after police "smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting" from their vehicle. T.I. just got out of jail earlier this year after a 7-month stint on weapons charges. http://bit.ly/bafJTm

So what was meeting this "other girlfriend" like?
One of those trapped miners will probably want to stay deep underground. Turns out the wife of one of the miners met a very interesting person at the rescue site -- his mistress! Watch more here: watch

Strangest place you gave birth?
For a second time, a woman from Bethel, Ohio has given birth on THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL. Christina Schuler gave birth to a boy Tuesday in the front seat of the family's pick-up less than a mile from the hospital. No decision on a name.
Another suggestion: If the name of your baby had to suggest where he/she was conceived, what would be her name?
CELEBRITY TWEETS

- Sandra Bullock is on the magazine, but she's not in it. Entertainment Weekly features Bullock on the cover and an article on the state of her career after the cheating scandal that broke up her marriage. They spoke to A-listers and agents about her future, but not to Sandra herself. They say she's got endless choices and will most likely make a return soon. More here: http://bit.ly/cMwBe7
- Emmy winner Bryan Cranston blabbed that he'll be hosting Saturday Night Live next month. "I am so thrilled and excited and a little scared. It's going to be fun." NBC, of course, would not confirm his appearance which he says will be Oct. 2nd. http://bit.ly/c4mMGK
- This looks interesting. We'll have to check out a new TLC show Sunday called Freaky Eaters which tells the story of one Freaky Eater's food obsession. The first episode features a man that eats 1500 cheeseburgers every year. Watch a preview here: http://bit.ly/9VZXT7
- Strange night for Guns n Roses in Dublin. Axl Rose was so ticked at fans throwing water bottles on stage that he walked off. Can you blame the fans? The band showed up an hour late, and when Axl screamed at them to stop throwing bottles, what do you think happened next? More bottles! He stormed off but returned an hour later after being screamed at by the promoter. The venue was mostly empty by then, but the band finished their set. Nice to see Axl has grown up. Video here: http://bit.ly/c9Gcls
- Jamie Lee Curtis has Lindsay Lohan's back. Asked if she had any advice for her Freaky Friday co-star, Curtis say no, because "it's none of my business. People are responsible for their own choices." She did add that Lohan is a "brilliant talent and I am sure she'll enjoy her talents more and more in her life." http://bit.ly/aryrxZ

DID YOU KNOW
The first Labor Day in the United States was celebrated on September 5, 1882 in New York City. It became a federal holiday in 1894, when, following the deaths of a number of workers at the hands of the U.S. military and U.S. Marshals during the Pullman Strike, President Grover Cleveland put reconciliation with the labor movement as a top political priority.
WHO SAID IT?
"The best part about being friends with your parents is that no matter what you do, they have to keep loving you."
-Natalie Portman
JOKE OF THE DAY
A man went to the psychiatrist because he had a fear of thunder. “Doc, I don’t know what to do,” said the man.
The doctor replied, “That’s ridiculous. Thunder is a natural phenomenon – nothing to be afraid of. Whenever you hear thunder, do like I do: Put your head under the pillow and it will go away.”
