What folks are Googlin' today

"fat embolism"- A woman died from a fat embolism on the season finale of "House" last night, so the search is on to explain what that is... Here's what I found -- a fat embolism is a condition where in fats enter the circulatory system because of a physical trauma or a surgery. One of the most common examples of a fat embolism happens when a bone was fractured.  House lost a patient from this condition after amputating her leg in a dirty parking garage.  Just another day at the office.

"lindsay binegar"- Lindsay Binegar's story makes you smile and kick yourself at the same time.  She's a hot search this morning because of what she's done since the age of 4... no, not play piano or sing or dance.... since the age of 4, Lindsay has been saving her money.  All of it.  Beyond splurging for a purse when she was 14, Binegar, now 19, saved all of her winnings from 4-H competitions and is now a homeowner.  She spent all of her $40-grand on a house which she rents out to her aunt and uncle for $450/month.  Not bad for a freshman at Ohio University.

"yummy cupcakes" - Why are Yummy Cupcakes a hot search all of a sudden?  Well, the Rachael Ray show helped.  Yummy Cupcakes is a company which makes cupcakes based in California and recently featured on "The Rachael Ray Show."  The shop has been open since March of 2004 when owners Tiffini and Nik Soforenko, and Brogan Faye opened one of the first cupcake-only bakeries in the country.  The quality of the cupcake has made them one of the hottest treats in Los Angeles.  In fact, they were recently seen being enjoyed by James Cameron, Jennifer Garner and Shirley MacLaine!  It is common to find celebrities among such posh guests and common to see these gourmet treats at VIP events such as the recent Academy Awards E! after-party and The Golden Globes.

"jada pinkett smith"- Oprah asked Will and Jada Pinkett Smith how they keep the flames burning in their marriage... "sexy pictures," she says.  Watch

It drives him nuts that you're better at him at what?
Great story about Emily Hawley, valedictorian at Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.  She wrapped up her graduation speech with a simple question to her boyfriend onstage:  Will you marry me?  The crowd went crazy.  He said yes.  So not only did she beat him to the proposal, but she also edged him out in grade point average to walk away with the title of valedictorian.  He had a 3.999; she had a 4.0.  Get used to taking second place, buddy!

How spoiled is your pet?
You decide -- cute way to treat a dog - or way, way, way (counseling needed) over the line?  A dog owner built a Victorian-style dogie mansion - complete with white picket fence, vaulted ceilings, hardwood floors and air conditioning.  3 dogs, Chelsea, Darla and Cocopuff even have their own beds and handmade curtains.  Their owners next addition will be a flat-screen plasma TV bringing the dog-house total to $30-thousand!

Ever discover you're being ripped off by your neighbors?
A German man was fined for not protecting his Wi-Fi signal.  He was originally busted for illegally downloading music until it was discovered that he wasn't even home at the time.  It turns out that someone close by his home used his Wi-Fi signal to steal music.  The court cleared of copyright infringement, but said the access point should have been password protected.  Be careful with your wi-fi... you never know who is using your signal!!!

CELEBRITY TWEETS

Cate Blanchett covers W mag this month with kind of a creepy photograph.  In the interview, the writer describes the 41-year old as having a "narrow Icabod Crane frame."  Compliment?

Kate Gosselin has joined Entertainment Tonight as a special correspondent.  She started last night.

Tom Bergeron tells ET that they're hoping to snag Betty White for next season's "Dancing With the Stars."  Interesting quote:

"My understanding is that Betty has had a conversation where she expressed some concern about her ability to keep up. I think that is where you have to say, 'Okay.' From a promotion standpoint, obviously, she is the hottest name going right now, but I adore her and I would never want to be her last show."

Hot couple?  Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough.  Page Six reports the two have been out on a couple "dates."  Hough has laughed it off by telling Ok!, "I know him from interviews.  We've had lunch together with people - my manager and stuff like that."

Just in... Charlie Sheen is sticking with Two and a Half Men.  He signed a contract for another two seasons.

FUN STUFF

GADGET OF THE DAY

Sick of meetings?  Sick of the same people trying to be the funniest in the room?  Sick of thinking about the money you COULD be making if only you weren't tied up in that stupid meeting listening to the same stupid jokes?  Bring this:  The TIM, or the Time is Money clock.  Punch in the number of people in the room multiplied by their average wage.  As the meeting drags on, the clock displays how much revenue is being lost.  This will take away $25 of that revenue, but it makes the point, right? QUOTE OF THE DAY

"You can't worry about what other people say. You can't make everybody happy, it's impossible. The only person you can make happy is yourself, so why not put your energy into that?"
-Cameron Diaz on dealing with critics

JOKE OF THE DAY

A man was invited to a friend's home for dinner, where he noticed that his friend preceded every request to his wife with endearing terms, calling her “honey,” “darling,” “sweetheart,” and “pumpkin,” among others. He was impressed at this, since the couple had been married for over 50 years.

While the wife was in the kitchen, he said: "I think it's wonderful that after all these years, you still call your wife those pet names."

His friend shrugged, lowered his voice and said: "To tell you the truth, I forgot her name 10 years ago."
