IN SEARCH OF

What folks are Googlin' this morning

"lawrence taylor"- Lawrence Taylor was the #1 search this morning after being charged with rape early yesterday.  LT apparently paid a 16-year old runaway for sex at a hotel room in Suffern, N.Y.  He was charged with third degree rape and patronizing a prostitute in the third degree.  This will probably send him to prison, possibly up to four years.  The judge set bail at $75-grand.  LT in court

"dow"- Another HUGE search this morning because the stock market, once again, gave us all heartburn yesterday.  The Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 998 points yesterday afternoon -- "the biggest intraday point decline ever and worst drop since 1997," according to the Detroit Free Press.  The Dow actually lost 700 points within 15 minutes, but then bounced back 600 in the next 20.  Why?  One investment counselor says it's Greece with their debt and recent riots:   "It is Greece, and it is concern that Greece is the first domino just as Lehman was the first domino a few years ago."

Others believe that a major firm had a trading error.  Possibly a technical or mechanical error.  Christopher Ruth from Comerica said "It doesn't look and feel like your typical market sell-off."

Everyone is keeping a close eye on today's trading.

"proctor and gamble" - Proctor and Gamble had to step up and defend their "Dry Max Cruiser" diapers yesterday after a writer for "World Correspondents.com" claimed they cause 'chemical burns and rashes'.  Pampers issued a press release calling the rumors completely false.

”We have comprehensively and thoroughly investigated these and other claims and have found no evidence whatsoever that the reported conditions were in any way caused by materials in our product.”

Meanwhile, the writer for World Correspondents.com, Anne Frankhulder, provided no source for her information.

It seems easy for everyone else, but it took a million times for you to finally accomplish what?
A 69-year old South Korean woman finally passed her driving test after the 10th try and will officially get her driver's license.  You may remember Cha Sa-soon, she's the woman who passed the written portion of the test after 960 tries.  She took the test every day since April of 2005.  Well now she's ready to hit the road.  She's heading out to buy a small secondhand car to visit her son and daughter, and there's a small city just south of Seoul that is in a heightened state of fear this morning.

Happy Mother's Day!!!   If you're an older woman and new mom, you're not alone -- so what is the upside and downside to starting a family later in life?
According to new research, the number of women past the age of 35 and having babies has skyrocketed.  Get this - between 1990 and 2008, older mom's having babies went from 368-thousand to 603-thousand.  That's 1 in 7 babies in 2008.  Most of these women waited to get married, were college educated and had established careers.

Left Handers -- UNITE!  Sure you have a better chance at being President, but is the life of a lefty as challenging as some say?
Lauren Milsom, author of the book Your Left-Handed Child, says left-handed children face tougher hurdles than righties.  She calls it  "right-bias", and it holds back as many as 1 in 10 students in the UK.  Lefties are being denied the proper equipment to excel in English, science, computers, cookery and design technology, and are falling behind.  Teachers are also to blame because of their "ignorance of left handedness."  "...it is about equal opportunities," she says.

Ronald Reagan
George H.W. Bush
Bill Clinton
Barack Obama

Women: Either way is fine..I guess...whatever.

"In a study of nearly 4,000 women ages 25 to 45 who are sexually active, about 71 percent said they were not trying to get pregnant, while 6 percent said they were. But nearly one in four, 23 percent, told researchers they were "OK either way" – they were neither trying to conceive, nor trying to prevent a pregnancy."

JOKE OF THE DAY

It was two o'clock in the morning and a husband and wife were asleep, when suddenly the phone rang.

The husband picked up the phone and said, "Hello? ... How the heck do I know? What am I, the weather man?" -- and promptly slammed the phone down.

His wife rolls over and asks, "Who was that?"

The husband replies, I don’t know. Some guy who wanted to know if the coast was clear.
