What folks are Googlin' this morning

usa hockey - Canada skated away with gold, beating the USA 3-2 in overtime. The U.S. put the game into O.T. after scoring a goal with less than a minute left in regulation. But, 7:40 into over-time, Sidney Crosby got the final shot past U.S. goalie Ryan Miller. The place went ballistic.

"sidney crosby girlfriend" - Ah the life of a sports star. Everyone wants to know if the hero of team Canada is single. Does Sidney Crosby have a girlfriend? The answer: He's single. Doesn't date much, say the chat rooms.

"white castle" - It's a great idea for a show, and it seems to be getting a lot of buzz -- Undercover Boss focused on Dave Rife last night, owner of the fast-food chain White Castle. The show takes company CEO's and puts them on the front line, so for Dave, it was back in the kitchen. He learned about customers, his food, and especially equipment failures. This leads to a good question: Do you know the owner or CEO of your company? Would you know if they walked through the door and worked side-by-side with you?

What is the one thing you'll remember most about the Winter Olympics?
-- Lindsay Vonn's latest wipe-out?
-- The USA/Canada gold medal match?
-- That dude that looks like the guy who did beer-bongs in college, but grew up to win a gold driving the four-man American bobsled?
-- Israeli ice dancing team Roman Zaretsky and his sister Alexandra doing a creepy seductive tango?
-- The insanely slow and boring curling events that you couldn't stop watching?

Is there REALLY such a thing as an "open" relationship?
Really...can you make an "open relationship" work? Seems like a great idea at the time, but how long can it last before either -
1 - someone becomes insanely jealous
2 - you or your partner falls in love with the "other" person.

Here's an article about how some couples have made the idea of an "open relationship" work (?). Of course the article starts out by slamming the idea of monogamy (27% of men and 18% of women cheat, etc), and then moves on with tips from couples on how this whole process works:

From a guy: "Do the ‘opening process’ together...People often go off and find someone else, then bring it up with their other half, and this is basically just cheating. The starting of an open relationship can be an issue if it’s not done with both parties fully involved.”

From a woman: “We met writers, academics, designers, lots of interesting people, but the whole thing had to be strictly a sexual thing. The first time he wanted to go for dinner with a girl, you know, go on a date, I was furious. I said, ‘If you want her body, fine, but this looks like the start of a relationship.’” (By the way, this woman's husband left her for another woman...one he met in his "open relationship")

What's the absolute WORST diet you ever tried?
Interesting list her of 9 HIDDEN reasons you may be gaining weight. Here are the top three:

You Need a Nap: "People rely on between-meal snacking to wake up, when a power nap is really what’s needed."

You're Confusing Healthy with Low-Calorie: "While a first step for healthy eating is to stick with heart-healthy plant fats (like olive oil), all fats -- healthy or not -- still have the same amount of calories: about 120 per tablespoon. Heart-healthy nuts can be a great snack, but choose portion controlled servings since just a small handful has 100 calories."

You're on Medication: "Some medications can slow your body’s metabolism and/or stimulate appetite. These include some antidepressants and mood stabilizers, antihistamines, insulin and anti-inflammatory drugs."

CELEBRITY TWEETS

An autopsy has been ordered on the body of Marie Osmond's son, Michael Blosil, found Friday night in Los Angeles. Early indications point to suicide (People.com reports he jumped from a 15-story building). Osmond cancelled her Las Vegas show on Friday. Her brother, Donny, asked fans to "pray for my sister and her family."

Film critic Roger Ebert has his voice back...kind of. Ebert lost his ability to speak after cancer surgery, but thanks to a computer programming company from Scotland, he has it back. The company used digital samples of Ebert's voice from a DVD he recorded before surgery to turn the text he types turn into audio that sounds like the old him. Weird, huh? Curious? Watch Oprah tomorrow - Ebert will be on making Oscar predictions.

Julianne Moore got her start playing identical half-sisters Frannie and Sabrina Hughes on the soap As the World Turns, and it looks like she's heading back for the show's final few months. She'll reprise the role which earned her a Daytime Emmy in 1988. ATWT ends in September after 54 years on CBS.

Interesting -- As the World Turns not only launched the career of Julianne Moore, but a few more names you may recognize: Dana Delany, Meg Ryan, Marisa Tomei, James Earl Jones, and Parker Posey.

The Leo DiCaprio flick, Shutter Island, held on to #1 over the weekend beating out the Bruce Willis movie Cop Out. Interesting that internationally, Avatar is still at the top spot.

JOKE OF THE DAY
A mother mouse and her three children crept out of their hole into the kitchen and began feasting on some delicious bits of food. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, Mother Mouse saw a cat slinking toward them. The cat was between the mice and their hole. The mother muse puffed up her lungs and went, “Woof! Woof!” The cat turned tail and ran. With that, the mother quickly led her children back to safety in their hole. When they were settle and breathing normally, Mother Mouse said to her children. “Now, what’s the lesson from that experience?” “We don’t know,” the baby mice squeaked. “It is this,” said Mother Mouse. “It’s always good to know a second language.”
