"bode miller wins gold" - If you haven't seen a replay of Bode Miller's gold medal performance in last night's Super Combined, you will. As the Wall Street Journal is saying this morning: "a comeback performance in the men's Super Combined that will be replayed in Olympic highlights for years to come."
Here's a guy that stopped skiing last summer. He was done. In fact, the 32-year old didn't even own a pair of racing skis last fall when he decided to mount a comeback.
When you see the replay, watch Miller attack the slalom course with no fear. While other skiers sat back on their skis, Miller leaned forward. Today he's wearing gold. Great moment.
BTW: Canada lost to the United States in men's ice hockey. Let me repeat that - Canada LOST to the U.S. in hockey. 5 to 3 was the final score. Russia, the U.S., Finland and Sweden move to the quarter-finals. Canada must play a sudden death qualification on Tuesday night against Germany.
"earthquake in new jersey" - A 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit Somerset County, New Jersey yesterday morning. No injuries were reported. A telethon for earthquake relief is being put together by Tony Soprano.
"the bloom box" - 60 Minutes introduced the world to the Bloom Box last night. Bloom Energy's little invention was originally developed to supply oxygen on Mars, but when the gov't scrapped the Mar's project, the inventor reversed the processed and created a machine that supplies energy that is inexpensive and clean with no emissions. The idea is to one day each have our own electricity grid, replacing big power plants and the transimission line grid. Bloom will officially go public with the Bloom Box on Wednesday, and their biggest fan seems to be Google, who have been secretly using the little power plant over the last year. watch more below:

"credit card rules" - The crack down on slimy credit card practices continues today. Double-cycle billing, retroactive rated hikes and a number of other stealthy moves by credit card companies comes to an end. But, and there's always a but... this doesn't mean these companies won't try new ways to separate you from your cash. One expert says to watch out for:
-More annual fees
-Fewer promotions
-More rate increases in future purchases
-Less credit for risky customers.
For example, one company (Citigroup) sent out a notice to customers that there will be a $60 annual fee if you don't use their card for $24-hundred worth of purchases.

What's your idea of a GREAT vacation -- adventure or relaxation?
A new study found several things about vacations:
* We're happier planning the vacation than taking the actual vacation.
* You will feel no afterglow from a vacation upon returning unless you take a "very relaxed holiday trip." Even then, the afterglow only lasts a couple of weeks.
* Researchers recommend taking multiple short breaks over the course of a year rather than one long vacation. A low-stress vacation should be a top priority.
