"toyota recalls september 2009" - Toyota is recalling close to 4 million vehicles because of faulty floor mats. The problem, which also includes their Lexus brand, involve floor mats snagging on gas pedals, which was the cause of an accident involving a family in San Diego. Their mat snagged the gas pedal of their Lexus sending the car 120 miles per hour into the back of an SUV. This is a huge and expensive recall that Toyota calls critical. Take note - floor mats need to be removed from the following vehicles: 

• 2007 - 2010 Camry
• 2005 - 2010 Avalon 
• 2004 - 2009 Prius 
• 2005 - 2010 Tacoma
• 2007 - 2010 Tundra 
• 2007 - 2010 ES350
• 2006 - 2010 IS250 and IS350

"tsunami in samoa 2009" - A tsunami, caused by an 8.0 magnitude earthquake in the Pacific Ocean, hit Samoa killing over 80 (at last check). The survivors were the ones that made it to higher ground, most who didn't were swept out to sea. Four tsunami waves hit the island reaching heights of 20 feet and a mile past shoreline. Samoa's population is around 180-thousand, and is located halfway between New Zealand and Hawaii. 

"kate plus 8" - They chose Kate. TLC decided to "retool" their hit "Jon and Kate Plus 8," by dropping the "Jon" part out of future episodes. The new show, "Kate Plus 8" will begin November 2nd, and focus primarily on how a single mother builds the next chapter in her life. 25 shows have been ordered, and word is that'll probably be the end. TLC loves Kate, though, and hinted at another unspecified "Kate project" for next year.
