This is the time of year when mom's and dad's start shedding tears while their kids pack up a U-Haul and head off to college. Or do they? They may, but the tears don't last that long, because as soon as the kids leave, the renovations begin!

84% of moms already know what they're going to do with their kid's empty bedroom -- can you say "giant walk-in closet?" A third of moms say they'll immediately use the space for their clothes and shoes. Here are other ways they'll use the space.

What Do Women Want? Fun!

According to a survey sponsored by Diet Pepsi, women want fun. Three-quarters of women literally crave more fun. What's fun? FLAIR! Great shoes, bright lipstick, trendy accessories is flair and that's fun for 56% of women.

If you're looking for fun people, head South! Women in the South admit they are the instigators of fun, followed by women out West.

Liar Liar!

To the shock of no one, a survey found that men lie more than women. The average guy lies 3 times a day, or 1,092 times a year. Um, three? Does that seem low to you, or do I obviously have a lying problem. Women say they lie just twice a day.

But when you dig deeper into the survey, women don't come up so rosy. When it comes to hiding new clothes, 39% of women feel the need to lie compared to 26% of guys.

Women also pretend to be busy to avoid phone calls more than men - 50% to 33%.

So what, says a professor. Lying is an essential part of being a human.

“Everybody lies, but we have to know when it’s OK to do it and when not. It might be OK to say you like your friend’s new hairdo when you don’t really, because the fib could be good for the friendship. But telling lies to escape from life’s difficulties can cause harm and will have long-term consequences."
