8 million Americans are working second jobs to make "moonlighting money."  If you're thinking of picking up something extra, but have no idea what to do, here are some ideas from personal finance guru Jeanette Pavini:


  • Focus Groups -- you test new products and services offered by companies.  
  • Mock Juries -- some attorney's test their cases on a mock jury.  Pays about $250/day.  
  • Mystery Shopper -- Businesses hire mystery shoppers to get an idea of what their customer experience is like.  WARNING:  Never pay a fees to become a mystery shopper (or participant in a focus group).  
  • Poll Worker -- Check your county's website, but you could make as much as $200/day.

A British survey discovered something that could probably be applied here, too... women spend more GETTING READY for their vacation than the VACATION itself!  Here's the pre-vacation breakdown:

  • Spray tan
  • Pedicure
  • Eyebrow tint
  • Body massage
  • Body scrub
  • Bikini wax
  • Haircut and blow dry


Total prep time = 10 hours and 55 minutes.




Facebook Warning



Facebook serves two functions we can all agree on:

  1. Keep up with friends/relatives
  2. Stalk ex's

#2 is what you may have to stop doing now that Facebook is letting everyone see who viewed a post on a group page.  This is from Facebook's blog:

"Starting today when you visit a group, you can view who's seen each post. This way you can stay updated on the group's activity. For example, in your soccer group you can post the new practice time and then see who got the update." 

Ok, so tracking starts on Facebook group pages, but will it end there, or will every page soon be able to track its readers?   Better stalk your ex today while you still can, but not on a group page!

A new survey found that the majority of our web browsing happens on our iPad and smart phone.  iPad owners now spend between 2 and 5 hours on their device, and here's what they do:
