Today is National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day... what is your favorite business completely managed by one family?

At What Point In Life Do You Consider Yourself Officially "Old"?

Where are you this morning? Young and free, or old and slow? At what specific point in life did you officially leave your young-self behind?

Interesting survey on that topic with two VERY different perspectives!

Women:

-Feel old at 29.
-Felt they were over-the-hill when they found their first gray hairs.

Men:

-Feel old at 58
-Felt they were over-the-hill when their sex lives were affected.

How interesting -- the survey was done by a funeral company (who probably encourage those "feeling old" vibes). Other reasons for feeling old:

Women - Skin lost its youthful glow; "assets" started to give after childbirth; started acting like their mothers.

Men - Thought bars were too loud; started reaching retirement age.

5 Ways to Stop Procrastinating!

From Real Simple Magazine... we all need this:
  1. Do the worst thing first! (willpower is limited, use it early!)
  2. Start your day over at 2 p.m. (at 2 p.m., alter your plans to attack what's critical)
  3. Make the job smaller (slice and dice the big project into smaller ones)
  4. Create an audience (make yourself accountable to a friend)
  5. Race the clock (set a 10-minute timer)

My Top 3 Websites to AVOID If You're A Procrastinator:

3) People of Walmart. Try. Just try and stop soaking up the Walmart goodness -- photo after photo after photo.

2) fmylife.com. Here are a couple gems from yesterday.

1) Facebook! Stay on Facebook too long and one or both will happen:
-You'll get NOTHING done. EVER.
-You'll get a divorce.

Someone needs to invent a Facebook Patch. Something you wear that prevents you from being on FB for more than 10 minutes at a time.  Can we pause the search for a cancer cure and get on that?

Gotta See This

This woman is sharing the road with you.

She should've followed the letter "D" with "U" and "I".

Did You Know

What can spark a close relationship between two people? Maybe an interest in the same music or sport? Nope, a new study found that hating the same person can bring two people closer. Isn't that nice? Get all the juicy details here.

Joke of the Day

This guy was sitting in his attorney's office. His lawyer says: "Do you want the bad news first or the terrible news?"

"Give me the bad news first," he says.

"Your wife found a picture worth a half-million dollars," his lawyer informs him.

"That's the bad news?" asks the man incredulously. "I can't wait to hear the terrible news."

"The terrible news is that it's of you and your secretary."

Surf This!

If you've been to a recycling center or city trash dump lately, you can't help but notice that we all throw away a lot of useful stuff. That's the inspiration behind TrashNothing.com. It's a site that encourages you to recycle your unwanted items by giving them away to someone who could use 'em. Check it out here.

Doggie Bag (This and That)

Should you ENCOURAGE your kid to fight rather than run? One mom did, and she got a police escort to jail. Warning: The video is disturbing, but it's creating quite a debate in the blogosphere. Go!
