"to sir with love" - "Glee" wrapped up its season last night with the gang performing "To Sir, With Love," from the film of the same name.  It was a tribute to Mr. Schue for all the lessons he's taught them over the season.  "To Sir, With Love" starred Sydney Poitier as a noble teacher at an inner city school. 




"fighting gravity" - The big act on "America's Got Talent" last night was Fighting Gravity, a group of fraternity brothers whose glow-in-the-dark hoodies and tennis balls might just make them famous.  They say they have no dance training... decide for yourself





"california election" - No surprises in the primary races for governor and Senate in California yesterday.  Former eBay chief executive Meg Whitman won the Republican primary for governor.  She'll face Democrat and two-term Gov. Jerry Brown.  On the Senate side, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina won the right to challenge Democrat Sen. Barbara Boxer in the fall.  



"gm recall" - General Motors is recalling 1.5 million vehicles due to a faulty heated windshield washer system.  Model affected are years 2006 to 2009 and include the Buick Enclave, Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Avalanche, Chevrolet Avalanche, GMC Acadia, Hummer H2 and many more.  Complete list here

What advice would you give to yourself on graduation day?
Congrats to the class of 2010!  They've had quite a journey through school...
-The country has been at war since they were in middle school
-The economy tanked as they entered their sophomore year
-They witnessed friends and family lose their jobs and homes
-It's one of the worst job markets in decades...

But still, they're optimistic and ready to tackle the future.  So answer this:  You have a time machine.  You take a trip back to the day you graduate and give yourself one piece of advice...what would it be?  



What food will you drive for hours to have?
Nice article here about a small donut shop in Carolina Beach, North Carolina called Britt's.  The shop has been on the boardwalk since 1939 serving up only fried glazed donuts from the same recipe and same rolling pin to visitors that drive miles to grab 'em while they're warm.  Only 71-year old Bobby Nivens and his wife know the recipe.  His daughter doesn't even know (but she knows where it's hidden in case something happens).  There was a time when Bobby thought about expanding his business, but eventually decided against it because, well, "money isn't everything."  Plus, he likes their vacation schedule, which is generally October through March.

  • Something set off Lindsay Lohan's alcohol-monitoring bracelet which has now caused a judge to issue an arrest warrant.  The SCRAM device went off Sunday evening during an MTV Movie Awards after-party, according to People.com.  The judge has now upped the bail to $200-thousand. source

  • Gary Coleman's will was filed yesterday in Provo, Utah, and it's very sad.  In it he demands his remains to be cremated and then directs who is, and who is NOT, invited to his wake.  Coleman wanted only  "those who have no financial ties to me and who can look each other in the eyes and say they really cared personally for Gary Coleman."  He also banned the press from any wake or funeral. source

  • Gary Coleman's ex-wife, Shannon, the woman that was there the day he fell, has not been shy about talking to the press.  She has so far done interviews with the Today Show and Entertainment Tonight.  She's planning on taking Entertainment Tonight to the exact spot she found Gary on tonight's show.  Is this what Gary would've wanted?  Isn't this everything he hated?  Just askin'.... watch the story here
